Harddrive Problems

-----------------------------------

I recently downgraded my Windows 7 computer to Windows XP (for my dad) but have faced many problems.
First of all, I had 4 partitions on Windows 7:

two physical harddrives:

 HDD 1 = 1 partition (Operating System)
 HDD 2 = 3 partitions

I formatted and installed XP on HDD 1 but now my computer won't recognize the other 3 partitions. :multi:
It only shows me C and D and when I click on D, it says to format it before using. :boom:

I really need the data on those three partitions, so...any suggestions?

Thanks

At first I thought that win 7 was NTFS and Xp wasn't but then I remembered there wasn't two versions so it must have been NTFS.

Re: Harddrive Problems

I have 2 hard drives on my computer, a 2 Gig, that has Windows installed on it (C:) and a 10 Gig, for files and stuff (D:). They are two totally separate drives, not partitions.
Anyway, one day I booted up the computer and Windows wouldn't recognize the D: drive. The BIOS read it fine. I concluded that my hard drive crashed. Is there any way I can recover the data? I have tried to access the D: drive in DOS, but It doesn't want to read it for some unknown reason.
Please help me out from this problem....
Thanks in Advance

LOL, she probably is.

But anyway, you could try re-installing your operating system (it could be an OS problem like the one I had)
or you could check your hardware to see if the drive is properly plugged in (although this shouldn't be the problem).
