Unless images have been recently disabled.  Also make sure 'enable bbcode' is giving you a true or 'on' in that editor thing.

methinks you would need to add the picture to some picture hosting site and grab the URL for that syntax to work.

As I recall images are not disabled in signatures.  You of course must actually put them on the tubes before they'll show up.
