can't log into quest

-----------------------------------

I don't know why whenever i try to log onto quest, it says "the application server is down at this time"

is this happening to everyone or is it because my IP is in china?

if I can't select my course soon, will all the good courses be filled up and i cant select anymore?

there are hours where the site doesn't allow you to log on.

Quest is typically available

1:00 am to 11:59 pm, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday through Sunday EST
1:00 am to 6:59 am and 8:00 am to 11:59 pm, Wednesdays EST

if you select your courses today, you should still be able to get any class/prof you want.

That's different. In the off-hours (you might have to figure out Waterloo's local time while in a different timezone) it would say "Quest is not available at this time" and typically reference the working hours. "Application Server" is something different.

They have an announcement up:

Quest is experiencing intervals of much higher than normal use today and responsiveness is being affected. We ask that you please exercise patience during the enrollment period.

I managed to log in. but the course I wanted to take is full (Econ 101) I chose psychology instead.

Just wondering if having the lecture once per week for 3 hours straight is a good idea, the other schedules are either full or overlaps with my other course schedule.

if ... 3 hours straight is a good idea
There's typically a short break at mid-point; to get up, stretch, and maybe get a snack from Timmy's
