You'll need to either use a public server or set up your own though. However, I'd rather go with chess than CS for that purpose. Otherwise, it's a slow paced reflex shooter. Euphoracle, you've clearly not played Enemy Territory enough to make a judgment about it... There are many mods, the best of which allow you to disable ranks, and bring out the better aspects of the game such as it's focus on objectives rather than "plant the bomb... 10 times in a row..." And you didn't just compare a video game with a sport, did you Analysis Mode? The only similarity between the two is that they can both be played either for fun or competition. Also, I don't recall ever talking about the entertainment value of watching a game, but rather playing it... PS. +1 for moving this to Off Topic. PPS. I am aware that ranks can be saved, however, on the servers that I played on, and I guess the mod progress at the time, it was temporary at most, lasting about 48 hours, and then it would be cleared. It's all fine and nice that mods make the game better, but keep in mind that I played on servers without insulting amounts of mods :> Also, Temple is the best map ever and I don't care what anyone says, that shit was fun. Edit: Corrected timeframe, just checked. Also, it wasn't a particularly fast game when compared to other, faster games like CS or Team Fortress, or somesuch. From what I can infer, you're talking about 32< player servers, probably stock etpub, large maps (ie. Temple), with ranks saving for a day or two (which, AFAIK usually accumulates quickly).
