computer jack wear and tear problems

-----------------------------------

with my new laptop Iam constantally moving around with it.

When i get back to my desk I like to plug in my 5.1Logitec Speakers to listen to some music or just get better sound quality (appose to the crappy laptop ones).

since the speakers are unplugged and plugged back in tpo it about 2 times a day...they are starting to get loose...bad to have.

Basically what i am looking for..is there a way to make my plug-in speakers bluetooth...or wireless, so i don't have to kill my headphone jacks (yes...all 3 of them 2 headphone and a universal mic/linein/rear speaker).

OR

Is there such a thing as wireless speakers...kinda like bluetooth headphones, but 5.1 surroundsound about 150watts

anyone have anyclue, because my jacks are pretty loose and ... as laptop owners know you can't replace jacks (or am i wrong...eitherway I want to stop using them...make them wireless).

Yes. First thing to come to mind is AirTunes -- http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/features/airtunes.html

Tony speaks the truth. AirTunes is the best implementation of this you'll find.

And typically the audio jacks on laptops are soldered onto the motherboard. They break and fixing them involves either incredibly sophisticated soldering skills, or buying a new mobo.

ooh that is pretty epic...
and offordable at only 100 bucks.

ooh, it looks like it only supports one audio jack...i need 3+ and spliters don't really do the trick...then all five speakers and the sub only work as one, when gaming it is nice to hear explosions that happen to the left or the right actually happen to the left or right or behind instead of sounding like it went off in your lap even though it was like 200 feet behind you.

R remember hearing something about a system that you could wirelessly network special box-like speakers throughout your
house. (apple again) anyone heard of them?...would these do the trick for surround sound?

upon doing some more reading...it doesn't tell you how it really works

"You just plug it in and it just works!"
:blah:

does anyone know the techy explination of how the "magic happens"

what in the world is a "mobo"
