Bootloader problems

-----------------------------------

This was kinda intresting
I just couldn't get ubuntu to work properly with my computer. My GPU doesn't work with it, sound card doesn't work well and a minor thing of my backlit keyboard doesn't "glow in the dark" with ubutu.
SO logically thinking if i deleted my ubuntu partition then my computer would go back to normal...WRONG

GRUB for some reason is on my Windows partition. And upon rebooting my computer i get

GRUB Loading Stage......

ERROR 22

and then it freezes. won't move. won't load. nothing besides error 22
so p poped in the ubuntu disk i made and just before grub fully loads it very quickly falshes press space to boot off CD drive [somethign like that]
and then in like in half a second it goes back to the error 22
so i restart my computer hammering space bar and re-install ubuntu
jeez i almost bricked my computer...how do i get GRUB OFF OF MY COMPUTER AND THE OLD WINDOWS BOOTLOADER BACK WITHOUT CRAPPING ON MY COMPUTER!!! >:{ :evil: }

Download Burn it.
Boot it.
Start up the FreeDOS disk image.
It will eventually give you a command prompt. Run this:

That error means you've installed your bootloader to a HDD or partition that isn't available at boot. When you install Linux, make sure the GRUB bootloader is on the first partition of the first hard drive. This eliminates many problems.

To fix it, put in your XP CD and go to the recovery console. Type in the admin password for your computer and type in:
fixmbr
then:
fixboot
Now I can understand why companies like Red Hat sold support for Linux (What happened to Red Hat : googles it:)

EDIT: They are still around and it is only $80.00 for 1 year of support and they will help you do anything you need.
