I wouldn't worry about it too much now that I think about it. Valve seems to be pretty efficient at getting rid of the source code it seems, and all that I think this is going to do on a larger scale is build up the hype for it.

I'm hyped, for one ;)

well if it really is out there, it will just get posted on some hacker forums anyways. And I'd like to see Valve catch them if they create a new account though 10 proxys.

Though if it was just a part of the code, then its all just publisity - and HL2 is getting just that now

EDIT: that's assuming you mean HL, considering the only people playing HL2 right now are pretty much just those who work at valve

the valve e-mail server was hacked and they've been getting Denial of Service attacks since 3 weeks ago.

during that time, the code was taken. 

valve is very pissed off about this but in the long run, I don't see any major damage since I believed they were to open source it anyways with an SDK.
