Thsi is what happens when people try to get involed in "politics". In there defnece it is rather hard to stop group think on board of directors for such orgigsations epstaly where there are extream influences from special intreset groups. It's very easy to get cought up in one way of thinking and only seeing the issue from one view point. Then count how many you see in the same time frame for prostate cancer. Funding for diseases is inherently politicized. Plus, you know, breasts are beautiful... men really aren't. ;) Next time someone hits you up for donations to breast cancer ask if they take money for prostate cancer as well. Ask them if they say no, why not? Just as md and rdrake have pointed out, there are all kinds of things out there that require research, but only show up in a mostly core group of people. My personal opinion? It's complete and utter bullshit.
