----------------------------------- PianoScry Thu Jul 10, 2008 12:08 pm Video File Help ----------------------------------- I have a JVC camcorder, and I have a problem that many people have. The video files are saved with .Mod rather than anything useful. In many forums, I've seen that a simple renaming to movie.wmv or anything else, solves the problem. Well it doesn't. when I try and play it in windows media player, it says it cannot play the file because it has been formatted with an unsupported codec. How can I fix this? If any of you know of a free converter program, that doesn't leave a water mark, or limit the video time (my old one used to limit the video to 5 minutes) let me know. Have you tried with several files? Just use the site to tell you what an ext is about. Use mediacoder or SUPER to convert media files. Also, look at the product support page for you camera. It may be defective. I would post a direct link to it, but they have it set up so that if you do that it wont let you download it so you actually have to click it from their webpage.
