On maps a poltical divsion is a boundry defined by a purely logical and not pysical consrstain such as the border of a country or provence. There poltical divisoins becues there is no pysical line there and rarely are there geological featuer defining them other then an abstract logical idea (tho in same cases poltical divison can fallow geoloical or other types of divdions like how the canadain/us border fallows the 49th parael).
