Webmaster Wanted

Top online social psychology magazine (www.in-mind.org) is seeking an additional (volunteer) webmaster to oversee the aspects of website development and maintenance. This position will work closely with the editor-in-chief, the public relations director, and the other webmaster. 

In-Mind Magazine is a relatively new journal that has immediately acquired a prominent position in the journal market. Currently at 1200 visitors per day, we are still seeking growth. Authors submit to our peer-reviewed, online, magazine. These authors have included world renowned researchers, such as Stanford professor Philip Zimbardo (Stanford Prison Experiment), Arizona State University professor Robert Cialdini (Persuasion: Theory and Practice and also Dateline, ABC, etc), and Alex Haslam (BBC Prison Study), amongst others. 

The new webmaster will be responsible for a weekly management of the site as well as implementing longer-term initiatives. Candidates must be equally comfortable with technical aspects of Web site development/maintenance and basic search engine optimization concepts. 

Seeking a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in (social) psychology and is motivated to support our current team of volunteers. This volunteer position can give you a r?sum? boost, as you are working with top scholars from around the world. Preferred hiring period 6 ? 12 months.

Responsibilities
?	In conjunction with content managers, creates and maintains Web content, developing and ensuring consistency of style, visual appeal, and functionality.
?	Understands Internet marketing and seeks out new technologies to support Web goals.
?	Manages e-mail discussion groups, online forums, and other Web-based tools.
?	Tracks and analyzes Web usage and recommends strategies for promoting increased traffic and site usability.

Skills/Qualifications
?	Solid understanding of HTML and CSS 
?	Familiarity with Web traffic tools (Google Analytics, WebTrends) and search engine placement 
?	Strong communicator
?	Recommended: Experience with Photoshop and Flash
?	Interest in (social) psychology a plus

General Requirements
?	Bachelor?s degree
?	Two to four years of related experience
?	Solid experience with web project management
?	Track record of bringing ideas from conception to completion
