help with playing music

I have a bacground music file playing with the process command . Then when another short music file is played and the stops the backround music stops as well. How do i get it to continue from where it stopped?
plz help ..ive been stuck on it for long

I don't think you can start playing music from an arbitrary point... would it be possible to simply not stop the background music?

or change file format turing can only play each format one at a time

so you can play a wav and an mp3 at the same time but not two wavs or two mp3s
