I am realy not shure what could cuase that other then beinger mode being on. I recomend trying to reinstall it. Turing is not unique to such "modes", certain BitTorrent clients (Azureus comes to mind) have similar functionality (with the exception that the "Advanced mode" opens up more options to tweak). It's a good idea.
