Processors in laptops

-----------------------------------

I was also curious about the processors. Before choosing the laptop, I wanna know some things about processors. The computer that I have right now is Intel processor.
1. What is the difference between AMD Turion processor and Intel Core Duo processor?
2. What are advantages and disadvantages of these two processors?
3. Which processor is more popular these days?
4. Finally, which processor should I choose?

Thanks,

J.

One is from AMD, other is from Intel. They're both each company's answer to the demand for mobile processors.
I've never had the AMD processor, only the Intel. I would imagine the C2D is a bit more expensive but it performs quite well. Not using the AMD CPU, I cannot say which is better.
Depends which manufacturer you're looking at, I'd say the C2D.
Totally your call. I'd go Intel, but I cannot say for you.

My store sells laptops with both processors. Don't how they technically measure up, but HP makes some really nice systems at very aggressive prices with AMD dual core processors.

Agreed. I have a Dell e1505 with a T7200 C2D. Got it for around $1000. Performs GREAT.
