Halo 2 for PC...

-----------------------------------

... needs vista? Why would Microsoft release a game in May that exclusively requires a operating system only months new?

Wow, a PC port that took 2 and a half years to develop, with absolutely nothing to offer in terms of gameplay, AND requires a $200 OS to run. If Microsoft thinks this is going to boost Vista sales, they're sadly mistaken.

I wonder what the game could posabley need that vista offers and xp dose not. Even if there was massive performance boosts in vista, it should still be able to run on xp unless it has some very odd OS specific api requirements.

I have a fealing that either Microsoft is trying to convince peoleop to buy there new operating system by making the game vista only or they just list it as a requerment when the real minmmun requirements are acuataly much smaller.

I wonder if all of there new software will be vista only.

Will the game run on XP though even if MS says it can only run on Vista? IS there a way to make it run?

Do you know if they're trying to make it compatible through online play of PC & Xbox??? Because that may be a reason to make it Vista only for performance reasons, they may not want shit box computers lagging the servers.... But still, they should make it available to XP even if that is a reason, just make the system requirements a bit higher... (and make it check the system requirements).

Crysis is light years ahead of Halo 2 graphics wise and doesnt require vista. Obviously Microsoft is trying to sell more copies of Vista.

err wtf are you talking about. Crysis isn't released yet. That's like saying windows 98 is shit because XP is way better. duh!

Plus Crysis is DX10, and DX10 is Vista Exclusive. so stfu.

And FYI, there is a huge graphics improvement in the vista version of halo 2.

There really is no comparison GRAPHICS WISE if you look at a Crysis screenshot/video vs one of Halo 2. Last I checked crysis is NOT DX10 exclusive while Halo 2 explicitly says VISTA only. And you know what the stupid part is? Halo 2 is not even a DX10 title! Even if it were it still doesn't make sense why it could only run on Vista when Crysis can be scaled to run on DX9 and DX10.

I'm not really following your XP vs Win98 analogy... and take it easy... sheesh.

Thats not the point hes trying to make. Your flipping out because you can't read. He said "Crysis doesn't need vista and its light years ahead of Halo 2's graphics." This implies that hes trying to confirm the fact that Microsoft wants to try and force people to get VISTA because there is no other reason why Halo 2 shouldn't be released on XP because it doesn't need DX10 to function.

The problem is... I don't know how to get them...

Whats so good about Halo 2 PC, that someone would buy a brand new computer with vista on it, just so they can play. Plus doesnt vista just need 2GB minimun memory just to run the standard applications without expecting lag. How the hell are you going to play Halo 2 game on Vista, you probably need to have highs spec for your pc, probably VISTA computer rating greater than 3.0. I frankly just settle for the console game version of Halo 2.

Hahaha, I have a decent computer. Halo is a pretty good game. There is no way I'm going to buy it, however. I love bungie (Yay for the Marathon series! I bought that when they were a REAL company!) but I dislike microsoft. I only want to be able to play the game on my PC, under windows XP, or WINE under linux... but I doubt that's going to happen any time soon.

Maybe they meant to run the ultimate edition decently? Kinda like how XP required something like 128 MB RAM yet needed around 256 MB to run decently.

Really, I'm just pulling excuses out of my ass right now too.
