Pretty simple actually. I ditched compiz because it just too too much in the way of resourcesw, and it didn't play well with video or games. ----------------------------------- Silent Avenger Sat Oct 21, 2006 11:39 pm ----------------------------------- Well here's my desktop for October I also found a Windows/Matrix themed background which is a little funny but not really. ----------------------------------- frank26080115 Sun Oct 22, 2006 11:15 am ----------------------------------- hehehe ----------------------------------- md Sun Oct 22, 2006 11:23 am ----------------------------------- hehehe So much task/menu bar space wasted... how awful. ----------------------------------- Amailer Sun Oct 22, 2006 12:28 pm ----------------------------------- http://www.aarondm.com/images/screenshots/resized/desktop_oct_06.png ----------------------------------- Hikaru79 Mon Oct 23, 2006 10:56 pm ----------------------------------- God, I love my Mac :) ----------------------------------- Cervantes Tue Oct 24, 2006 9:31 am ----------------------------------- http://www.cervantes.compsci.ca/images/screenshots/2006%20October.JPG ----------------------------------- wtd Tue Oct 24, 2006 12:27 pm ----------------------------------- Oh my... that taskbar looks really nice. Sadly, the rest of the theme sucks badly. What a conundrum. ----------------------------------- Windsurfer Tue Oct 24, 2006 3:48 pm ----------------------------------- What are some good tools that you guys used to modify XP like that? I use transformation packs, but I have no idea what you need to make those. ----------------------------------- Cervantes Tue Oct 24, 2006 5:40 pm ----------------------------------- Get the [url=http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707]UXTheme patcher, then go to [url=http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/skins/windows/visualstyle/]deviant art and get some themes. wtd, why don't you like the rest of the theme? ----------------------------------- RGB255 Tue Oct 24, 2006 6:12 pm ----------------------------------- How exactly do you use the UXTheme patcher? ----------------------------------- Cervantes Tue Oct 24, 2006 7:46 pm ----------------------------------- You just run it. Double click. It does everything automatically. If you're worried that it will screw something up, don't be. I've used it, and you can see how it has allowed me to pretty up my desktop. Since the great wtd didn't like my last one, here's another attempt! :P http://cervantes.compsci.ca/images/screenshots/2006%20October2.JPG ----------------------------------- Silent Avenger Tue Oct 24, 2006 8:08 pm ----------------------------------- I like your new theme a lot better than your other one, very nice Cervantes! I think I might try that UXTheme patcher because all I have right now for themes is the Alienware AlienGUIse theme package. ----------------------------------- Amailer Thu Oct 26, 2006 7:05 pm ----------------------------------- Ma windows, same BG :P http://www.aarondm.com/images/screenshots/resized/desktop_oct_06-win-2.png ----------------------------------- Clayton Mon Oct 30, 2006 3:02 pm ----------------------------------- my "fancy" desktop *note to self, get UXTheme patcher* ----------------------------------- Silent Avenger Mon Oct 30, 2006 4:39 pm ----------------------------------- Well another thing you may want to consider getting is the AlienGUIse by Alienware. It's free and it completely changes your desktop. You can dowload it here: http://www.alienware.com/standalone_pages/invader.aspx ----------------------------------- rdrake Mon Oct 30, 2006 5:11 pm ----------------------------------- Well another thing you may want to consider getting is the AlienGUIse by Alienware.
