My God. Car insurance.

For me to get insured its over $6k a year. W-T-F. How do I get to school? If I was a woman - $3k. :S Anyone here pay their own insurance?

I pay exactly 3060 a year for insurace on a 2001 Chevy Venture van. I only have my G2, I'm 17, and I'm a guy. Pretty much the worst place to be, unless I didn't have my drivers ed. or a clean record.
Which insurance company are you with, and what car are you being insured on?

wouldn't it be easier if you add your name to your parents insurance? well I mean if you are sharing car with your parents, and even if it is your own car, you can still make it under your parents name and just add your name to it. Your parents' insurance is probably way lower, you probably pay about 50 to 60 bucks on top of your parents' fee per month. It is much easier and cheaper.

Insurance is rediculous for me too, something like 6K a year. That's with 5 years driving expereince and drivers ed. It's cause I'm a guy,
