Dumb IE doesn't render perfectly valid HTML and CSS. Why am I using tables? IE doesn't render anything else properly.

It's nice to get the hate for IE out of your system.

That is IE 7, I'm trying it out too- and no the Yahoo! toolbar isn't built in, but I don't suggest you download it either XD IE7 at the moment is a bit buggy... for example, if you open up two tabs and close the second one- the whole browser closes o.O (Most of the time)

I usually just choose to ignore IE when possible, it saves a lot of hating. :)

Either way, I wish IE improved its bookmarking XD

I could care less what IE does, since the interface is way behind its competition. Why would I use a product that's 3 years behind the competition in features, security, and extendability?

It doesn't do that with my IE7 beta... Anywho, it works perfect for me, and no bugs. I went to Hotmail, it's fine...

Firefox is still better than IE or IE7 Beta, because it's much faster.

yeah thats why I added "To tell you the truth.." in the beginning lol.

yeah I agree, firefox is still faster than ie7 beta... and the 7 has SO MANY unnesscary things... they just cant put primary objectives of a browser before its add ons priority... one of the reasons I have started hating microsoft...

i agree, but because it comes preinstalled with windows. 99% of people have and use it. its inevidable.

That's not true at all! First, it's avoidable just by picking a different browser. These days, you've got lots of options even if you (or the people who just go with what they've got and never give a second glance) don't realise it. Firefox, Opera, Konqueror (for *nix), Safari (for Macs), and more. I'm sure Firefox at least has a much greater market share than the remaining 1% you've allowed, especially here. Hacker_Dan, do you think we could see the browser statistics for browsers visiting CompSci.ca?

i run a server to. 38% of trraffic is FF. But in general i find people use IE. I myself use FF. its just impossible not to have to use. when at friends and stuff. and 99% was an exaggeration to get my poin accross.

Well I have to say, still lots of people use IE because they dont know others exists! They are too lazy to change browsers or maybe they just dont do enough work on the interenet for them to change browsers... Also, IE is classic being the first browser and all and being popular among people, ex: school boards use IE (most of them) If there is ever a show of computer on television, they use IE mostly too and there is no way to remove it from windows platform, so some naive people who dont know the risks of IE use it because they see no other option....

ie is not the first browser, MS designed IE to put netscape out of business.

I'm pretty sure most people heard of netscape

Ever seen IE crash on tv? yeah, that's right.

if you dont know the risk of IE, why would you look for another option?

Netscape wasn't even first, there had been many web browsers before it came along (and many are still around).

In Canada aproximately 20% of browser trafic is from firefox, and only %70 is from IE. That's still a lot of trafic comming from IE, but depending on your target audience there are definitely times when
