For those who hae been following me, i've been advancing in turing. I just started learning the GUI and the mouse commands. I think i'm advancing fairly well. I'm also learning HTML and i can make a decent webpage. If anyone knows about html, give me a shout. Kidding. ;) If you want to make a decent webpage, you'll need to know a lot more than just HTML. Take a look at this forum: it's done in php. (Though there is HTML present also to format things.) You can do some stuff with JavaScript. Probably best of all your options, though, is Ruby on Rails. If you're serious about learning web-programming, you should take a look at Ruby ----------------------------------- Mazer Tue May 16, 2006 8:10 pm ----------------------------------- To be fair, I think you can make decent webpages in HTML. That is, if all you want to do is display some information (say, an extensive guide) straight HTML is fine. Stuff like PHP gives you more power and allows for input from the user. Som people hae been following my progress. Oh, and thank you to you all, i'll look into the suggestions taht you've offerred. Although i might just stick with basic HTML in notepad for now. I'm still a programming newbe. Of course, there are many, many sites out there dedicated to teaching HTML. A few of my favourites are [url=http://www.w3schools.com/]W3Schools, from the W3C, and [url=http://htmlgoodies.com/primers/html/]HTML Goodies. Please always remember to write standards compliant code. Yes, that means no fancy tag on your pages. W3Schools should teach you how to write standards-compliant HTML since it is from the same organization which creates the standards, so it is an invaluable resource. Once you think you've mastered HTML, there's always much more to learn.
