Pictures Not Showing In Run Window

For my final project I have imported a picture as the background, but all my players in the game are not showing up. How do I fix this problem? Please respond ASAP!!!

I am making single player RPG. Everything shows up on the screen perfectly(ie.Background,Health Meter,Pics for the stuff in your inventory etc).The only things that don't show up are the character you controll and the monsters that are in the levels.

check to see if the picture is in the same directory as the program
check if the picture format is accepted ( i think its like jpg or bmp only)

you're probably drawing your background on top of your players, make the players the last thing you draw.
