Graphics issue!

-----------------------------------

I was uninstalling some programs (I had lots of adware, etc on my computer) so a lot of the stuff was disguised under names like 'System files, etc'. Anyways, I successfully removed all the adware, i'm just worried that I might have uninstalled a windows component. So Just recently, the graphics on my computer started getting efffed up. This happens when I scroll: using the mouse scroller/scroll bar/button keys/pgup,pgdown/etc. The entire picture disappears: it almost becomes pixalated. At first this only occurred on images on the internet: so gif/jpg/jpeg/bmp. Now, it happens to everything: microsoft word/internet explorer/etc. If i minimize, then remaximize, the screen goes back to normal... sort of. I have a screenshot of what the screen looks like if that helps? Any suggestions, maybe installing some software? I just tried reinstalling the video card... didn't do anything. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

(there is a screeenshot of the image attatched)

djlenny please refrrain from posting if you dont know what you're talking about. MS doesnt have any graphics packs

try to boot into safe mode with networking and see if the problem still occurs

if it doesnt, then go bqck to windows and uninstall the driver, do not re-install it and see if it stll occurs

what video card are you using? if it's ati, then go back to safemode then go into commandline then do
cd\
cd windows/system32
del /f /s /q ati*

that will delete all ati drivers from your system
then go back into normal mode, and download the LATEST ati drivers and install it and see if it wil work

http://www.ati.com/ .. surpsingly easy eh? then on the main page they usually have a link that stands out that says "drivers" .. so we click on that, then we go to windows xp, and the graphics drivers are named "catalyst". most of the time the most recent drivers are the ones listed for download.

most of the time if you dont know the website for a major company, type the company's name in http://google.ca and its the first one listed

Okkkayy.... figured out the problem. I was gona replace the graphics card to see if it was maybe that, and i noticed that the fan on the video card wasn't working. Radeon X600 Pro 256mb. So yeah, i have to get the fan replaced. For now, i am just jusing the backup video card that's integrated into the motherboard. Well, thanks a lot for your help =)!

the fan isnt working? as in it doesnt spin anymore? clean the dusts off the fan and make sure the power cable pluged into the card is tight

also, is it an PCI-E or AGP?

Yes, the fan doesn't spin. The connection is fine with it. When I took out the video card i tried to move the fan with my hand, there is a lot of resistance on the fan, it barely moves. The card was really hot, so it is definitely the fan. It is connected through PCI-E. I dusted everything (i have one of those dust blowing things in the can that are pressurized). I don't want to take the fan off the video card because I'm not sure if it's glued on, so I don't want to eff something up.

hmmm okay, my guess would be too mcuh dust on the fan. I'll see if i can find a broken x600 at work on monday and see if the fan is easy to take off, if it is i guess i could send it off to you via cod if you want
