Increase mouse speed?

How do I increase my mouse speed past the maximum threshold allowed in control panel? I tried editing the mouse registry settings but they dont seem to change anything...

My screen res is really large and it requires to much hand movement to move the pointer from one side of the screen to the other...

get a mouse that has higher dpi tracking... for example, the [url=http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2142,CONTENTID=10715]logitech g5 can track up to 2000dpi, or the [url=http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2142,CONTENTID=10121]logitech mx518 can track up to 1600dpi, the [url=http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2142,CONTENTID=8070]logitech mx510 can track up to 800dpi. it all depends on what kind of mouse you have and how powerful it is.
