Admin lock...

-----------------------------------

I am currently a student in a computer science class. I work on alot of diffrent things, but there is one thing that ticks me off. There is an admin lock on everything, like properties, etc. I cant even change the desktop picture. Which brings me to my questions, is there any way to bypass the admin lock to change the desktop picture? Without being detected? I dont want to hack the computer....well....not to the extent of putting millions of viruses, just simply to change the backround picture to some nice pic, and not a green piece of ****.

If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advanced...

Yea, I am not that stupid. I did figure that paint would be a commonly overlooked thing to lock. BUt lo' behold! It was locked! The "set as desktop picture" is locked...any other ideas?

you cou just quickly put together a VB app that changes the background image. Your school admin can't lock out custom applications without locking the API itself.

VB or Visual Basics is a progaming langue made by microwsoft that alows for exteramly easy (almost drop and click) desing of windows only applications. Due to it's easy of use and intergeation with the windows API (a libbray of fuctions and classes to contorl windows) it has become popualr with script kddys or peoleop whont a quick fix or fuction to do somthing to windows.

In theroy if the BG is stored localy you could use VB to find it and overwriti it, tho most schools have the BG iamge stored on the network, in witch case u whould have to use VB to edit parts of the registry and some files to make a local img work as the BG.

In all likeyhood tho even if u could/did do this and it worked it whould reset the next time u loged in....

i'm actually suprised your school computers are so stricked. in our school we could change the desktop picture, although i'm gonna kill the guy that sits on my comp before my class. he keeps changing it to crazy looking ppl and stupid backgrounds. just for interest wat school do u go to? anyhow as tony and dan said just make a program in i.e. VB. theres no way your admin could control that and it should change the background. but i'm pretty sure your computers have deep freeze which just resets the computer how it was before, so your background will only stay there until u reset the computer. there is no way u can disable deep freeze so its pointless.

all our computers have deep freeze so its pointless to change anything
at one point tho, this really stoopid teacher had no password into his account and we got in and disabled deep freeze, but then the school found out...

If your really adventurous, or just bored you can always get ahold of hte DC for hte background and draw stuff in it. 'Course that requires writing/running a program, but you can do all sorts of funky things then ;)

just look around and you should find oen with all the setting in it..
