If you read dan's post [url=http://compsci.ca/v2/viewtopic.php?p=96074#96074]here You would know that 1/2 the site is on one server and the other 1/2 is on the other which could be cosing the slower loads

Indeed, i thought this way at least peoleop could use the site well i work on it. The database for the most part is moved and all of the files, tho it is still using the files on the old host right now. Alot of the seitngs need to be chaged over aswell as some of the more complexed data base elements.

maybe its something to do with 1 person posting from compsci.ca and one posting from hackerdan.com, if the person from hackerdan.com post at the same time as compsci.ca hackerdan.com would post faster since that's were the database is and compsci.ca has to connect to a remote database...thats just my theory

Well the part of the data base that deals with sreaching is resynicking still and it will be done in 2h. I also have to move the secondary databases for parts of compsci.ca like cTeam, dTeam and there resptive sites. I have some errors to figure out as u can see and i need to sort out what to do with the e-mails and ftp acounts. Also i have to move some of the setings and other things over.

Meh it is not that big deal, when v3 comes around the bit ecomdny will be drastly chaged. About 50 v3 bits = 1~2 v2 bits. And v3 bits are far easyer to get but things cost more.

That realy depeends on what is done for v3, the idea is to keep the magority of the database turotial and code wise. Also what u saw was just one posable idea for v3 that was not even ready for an aplapa test. Since the idea of v3 has started there has been well over 20~30 difrent concpects for v3 and even some v4 conspects are coming up. What i am planing right now for v3 and what u saw the start of is a magor upgrade of phpbb with tones of litte chages to make it somthing not quite phpbb and add a more comunity style like devien art and others where users can posts pics, ect and articals and such come up in a place other then the forms. Also a portal system on the side so we can call it a site. (Plus alot of cheap tricks to keep the noraml users happy, ie. more fun with bits YAYAYAYAAAAA!)
