I could fill it up easily within a year of constantly downloading lossless quality legally taped concerts. I already have 110 gigs full from about 4 months.

Clearly I'd rent it out to people like s_climax who could use it and make me some profit (assuming the 700 GB is free for me).

Well, if you're like my sister you could have multiple copies of the same song. You could also have a copy of just about every song you know as .wav (before burning to CD) and not delete them. That'll suck up space when you don't have much space to begin with...

Does anyone honestly even need that much space? I mean, before buying my 160 GBer, I've been dealing with a single, 40 GB , Hard Drive and haven't had any problems so far. But I guess if you're into that whole "Warez" thing, then yeah I guess. Razz

But honestly, If you're not a cronic downloader (ie: stick to just purchased games, software, ect), then unless you're running an online file-hosting server, you don't really need space that huge.

I went 2 1/2 years without reinstalling Windows, just because I was dilligent in what I downloaded. Wink

I'd just download many many many iso's of programs that I don't own, or that are free anyways, and keep a copy of them, so if I ever need the cd I can just burn it

sun servers 2+ terabytes ( 2000 gigs ) thats easy to fill when you have thousands if not millions of customers.

i have 480 gigs

2 x 120 = 240

2 x 80 = 160

1 x 40 = 40

lots of little ones around liek 5s 3s and 7s

each xbox game that i backup , takes up 3 - 7 Gigs , and i have about 70+ games

then i back up DVD'S and they take up 7 gig , then compress nicely to 1.8 Gigs

oh and lets not forget the

15 gigs in the Ipod Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

700GB? that isn't all that much.

I have 320, and its almost full.

If you want to suck up some space; get these games:

1) Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow - 2.1GB
2) Unreal Tournament 2004 - 5.3GB

um, 3) Manga Viewer (estimated at 22 GB)

the best games suck up space.

also, i download tons from bit torrent and kazaa and emule, so i lose space quickly

Not yet, what techtv did is hoke like 3 HDD together to make it actck like one big one.

And i don't think 1TB of space whould last forever, it seems that as space gets bigger we have files that take up more space and more of them. For example a few years ago it whould be nuts to have a 5GB file and on the computer i am using now i have serveral of them.

I am quite shure you could use up 1TB prity fast if given a fast enogth net conection.

It's not all about the connection speed. Some providers (especially the one's for you suckers that'll be living in residence next year) only give you a certain amount of bandwidth per month. And a terabyte is still pretty huge, but yes we could fill it eventually.

hmm ... 1 TB ..... yah i could easily fill it up ........ it'd just take all summer though

all you need to do is never delete anything you download ...... like getting the entire series of naruto anime on your HD and keeping it there ....... or something else

music files are kinda small ....... so your best bet is like .. movies (DVD rips) ...... like trying to fit all the Harry Potter, Godfather, Rocky and LOTR series onto your computer would be pretty cool

or just do what homer says ...... and sell the HD so you can get blasted every night for a month
