Okay I said this before once in a post.. i don't know where.. but i think it's getting worse, I don't know.

Either way, When ever I start my comp (or restart), it takes from 3-7 minutes to go into the login screen (where you can login into the user accounts). I don't know what's wrong because once im logged in, everything works perfectly no lag nothing... I don't know when this started, but I do know that after I upgraded my stylexp it started happning.. but then again, i tried uninstalling it and it still was the same.
Any ideas on why this is happning and how to solve it? I can have a whole damm snack while the login screen starts up...

HELP.
Thanks

i once had a faulty hard drive that caused similar problems. You may want to look into that. Also you could try defragging if you havent already

iam not sure what exactly you are saying. but i am pretty sure that this can do the same thing, although it will not help amailer out because he is talking about his boot time being way too long. but nevertheless in your run window type msconfig and hit ok... in the last tab entitled startup you can cancel some programs from starting up when you log into windows.

Could it be bad sectors on your hard drive? I had a problem like that. On a related note, if you are going to remove a hard drive from your computer temporarily for whatever reason, try not to hit it against the pc's internal speaker. Wink

If all else fails then reinstal Windows, maybe do some formatting here and there and after that it should be fine.
