no no no... so damn unprofessional. now a serious recording artist like myself would use awesome programs like:

Sound Forge
Vegas
Acid Pro

and you can purchase these off your favourite p2p program for a small amount. they are awesome.

wow, thats a little drastic. i am just looking for a simple to use software that will let me record scripts with a microphone and edit sound effects. I want to be able to use the scripts and sound effects in Flash MX 2004 Movies.

id go with sound forge and acid pro.

sound forge gives you really good editing and recording, while acid lets you mix it. pm me for the key to those houses if you want them (you know, the ones over there ---->.

ive only used sound recorder from win98.... its all good... made all my sound effects with it...

splice, add, insert, echo, increase volume, and it has options for saving (good - low quality)

but the above mentioned would probaly beat it, but they cost...(unless u buy from klite) Wink Very HappyVery HappyVery HappyVery Happy

Audacity is nice sound editor that does a lot of things that a professional pregram does.
Best of all: Free.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

If your willing to pay CoolEdit is a good one too.

I realize this post is a little late but everyone should know about Audacity Wink

I was going to recommend Audacity (it's free, small, looked simple to use) but somebody beat me to it.

What do u need sound editing for? making clips and stuff?
I only use sound recorder for recording myself play sax, and no matter which software I use, I can't make myself sound better Razz

But you just said you only use sound recorder? That's not a whole lot of software, and not even that feature rich. It's a bit like trying to use MSPaint as a replacement for Photoshop (believe me, I've been there)

I only use MS paint, I don't use photoshop.

srry for caps....

SOUND RECORDER CAN MAKE FILES LONGER THEN 1 MINUTE!!!!

press RECORD... then STOP then RECORDthen STOP...

or if u reache the 1min mark... press record again then it doubles length..

second... i just tried AUDACITY!!!! omg it rocks...

btw: i highly recomend searching sourceforce for software cuz its FREE and down to earth programming..

*** they work to make good software... not to make money..

EG: Audacity, Ad-Killer, And bunch of others i forget...
AD-killer ROCKS!... but is obsolete now that i mostly use firefox ... but i use IE sometimes...
