Wow, theres more and more bad programmers out there.... just like 20 mins ago i was searching in google, i opena site that looks good, and then all of a sudden, Norton antivirus pops up "Malicious Script Detected" Im like, Omg. I tell it to stop the action... and now, every time IE opens, or i use google, like 5 pop ups open... Its real annoying. :/

p.S. This is related to computers, internet, AND programming ;D

Whats even funnier, is that all the popups are for "Popup blockers" LOL

No wonder... you're using IE. Aside from Windows Update, there's absolutely no reason to use Internet Explorer.

True that. I only use IE when I'm forced to. Like, links in programs and such. I'd make Firefox the default browser (even if it sucked as a browser, it's name alone owns IE) but other people use this computer and frankly I'd rather use IE once in a while than share Firefox with them Shocked

I hope you're running Win 98 or ME, because this is what multiple user accounts were made for. Smile

Just give everyone else non-admin accounts and let them use whatever they want, and you still get to use Firefox exclusively.

The scroll wheel worked fine with Firefox here from the start, and it's a generic PS/2 mouse with no extra drivers, so I can't help you there, unfortunately.

ive been loving firefox, except that the glows don't work so it kindof defeats the purpose of wasting your bits over them.

what you realy need to stop those pop up;s from comming back is..
.
Its probaly in your REG under Current user / progs/ ie/ somewhere in there..

also./..]

www.buypin.com
the site no longer hosts it, but is has a link to it... its 100% free... and it
works great... you right click it on the taskbar and click on the window that you dont want to see again from the list that it shows... then VIOLA... "BAM" its gone... and wont come back... it operates under the title of the window.... right now if i added.,

CompSci.Ca :: Post a reply << that window would auto close as soon as i pressed post reply button

i had a popup blocker a while back, was free, along same ideas, it showed all open webpages, and you just double click one to "kill" it, and everytime that page opened, itd just close.
was called PopUpKiller. Sadly, they made a "better" version which just closes ALL popups and you choose ones to stay open. I like it better the other way Smile

yea.... i had one like htat.... also one that you had to presss buttons....

for ad-killler by buypin you can press the hotkey to kill... or select from the list... or fomr a pop up window... whichever method u like...

i hate the though of a pop up stopp;er scanning the webpages i view then decide if its spam.... mite not be good considering some of the sites i go to... (as a online police ppl made the program and send all the data home) aww Sh!T... ahha lol... jj...jk... but still... then if it dont pick it up as spam... then its useles....

but then blocking by title kinda has its defects... occasionaly they change (for some ones) and sometimes they name em "new window" "new email" and stuff liek that so you will make it explode on good webpages...
(you can remove from Alpha betical list) but its hard to find outa a list 900000 pages long...

oh, when you added one to list, it also added the URL Wink
and you could do like *ad* for anything containing ad, which most of them have like adserv or something in url Wink

hey short, you could probably get a larger hd (like a 20 gig) for really cheap. i know that i got a free 9 gig from my eng teacher for a crappy computer im building. you really sould upgrade your hd because you can do barely anything with a 1.6. how do you play starcraft?
