Alright, for some extra advertising, we need two people to dress up, one as the number 1, another as the number 0. They then have to go to the river and dance. Any volunteers? Hah, actually, CompSci.Ca needs a mascot. Anyone have any ideas/submissions under the offer of bits? It doesn't have to be complex. |

Well I think he wants a real mascot...lol you know, if you could wait a week (maybe next weekend) I would actually be willing to do that just for compsci.ca! I just gotta find a #1 and 0 custom. Anyway back to a mascot logo, what would a computer science mascot look like...pc with arms and legs? |

I would guess logo mascot. can't really have somebody dressed up dancing around where no one can see him. that's actually a really hard question to answer. here's a start, though somebody will likely add to this idea: a computer with 'Sci" written on the side. cheesy yes, hope someone can add to it  |

Oh god no. Absolutely no furries. That'll make all the REAL programmers leave and tonnes of creepy grade 10's sign up. Also, no anime hackers trying to look cool. I was thinking of a hand palming the Earth, with electronic circuits in bright blue running from the fingertips all across the surface of the globe. Sorta like showing the power of programming, y'know? |

Here is my first logo i made , it was done in 30 minutes with lighting and texture , it dosent have an s cause i got lazy and thought it wasnt worth finishing if no one liked it , the colors are not definite , there jsut there for fun , just look at hte idea EDIT : Make Your Browser Full Screen |

It's not that we need a new logo, I just think it would be easier to identify our site if we had something. Like when you see a penguin, you think Linux, and when you see a dead bird, you think Mac. I like the blue C thing...it looks too real though in my opinion...sfx it up :p |

Well, here are my ideas. I like the hand touching the earth idea, but I think it would be cooler if it was wires sprouting up from the bottom of the earth kinda like a tree of life idea. Then the continants could be shaded with a bunch of green binary, and the oceans blue binary, with a similar colour scheme to the banners that we already have Second idea was to think of an animal to make a mascot out of. Anyone? |

So if they did come from the bottom of a sphere it wouldn't make much sense, like everything came from Antartica. Okay, I've thought about a combination of ours Darkness. The wires could be sprouting from the centre of the earth (perhaps that's what you meant) and the wires stretch all across the globes. The 5 really thick wires will connect to the fingers, sorta like those science balls that had electricity coming out of the centre. The continents and oceans could stay with your binary color scheme. I think that seriously sounds pretty good. A lot better than going back to the old SWAT logo, where it was just 3 cartoon people lying around. Makes us all look like lazy bastards |

the best is a earth right , with one side on an agnle that is covered with the green and blue , and some detail , and hte other sid ( like 60 % - 40 % ) is wireframe that just shows what the earht is based on , so like untextured to textured , it loks cool i made one before |

Maya is made by Alias Wavefront if I remember correctly. They're supposed to have a Maya learning edition for free that you can order on CD, but I'm not sure if it's available to download yet. 3DS Max is made by Discreet. I seriously doubt there's a demo for that but I could be wrong. And Blender is made by NaN (Not a Number)... you can probably find a demo of it somewhere on the net, but it would be a stupid idea to look for it because it's already free! |

i looked on first 5 pages of results from GOOGLE>CA pictures under search of Globe Canada ( best ones i already posted...) in my opinion ..... so yea... i can take the outline of canada and fill with the Green Binary.... but then i need it to be wraped around a Blue globe of Binary so oceans blue and lands Green... but ya see i dont got no 3d prog yet....too busy... |

Progress is good... and i though i would share with you..,,, im not done as you can see in picture, of cropping out lakes,and cropping main outline... but i put over blue backround just so ppl can uuu and ahhhh after im done Amailer is going to wrap around a globe for me... then i will be doing some Funky C and S work... and maybe a wuick ponder back at hand idea... Well in 10 minutes i got this , i wrapped his binary earth , this is very very rough , has no comparison to catalysts , making letters 3d is jsut so darn hard , the curves wont look right for an S shape |
