i made a 6 program payroll system , it was very challenging , making a payroll system would be a cool thing for you to do , wih a nice gui or somthing

how about a "Never have I seen anything like it before" screensaver. since most of the ones available are pretty boring.

shorthair, you havent been on compsci.ca for so long, so you might not know the uber l337ness of Catalyst (that almost rhymed 8) ). payroll would be kinda boring for someone that already made a 3D engine in turing.

as for a final project, I suggest some complicated AI programming, like those big thingies in Black and White. That would take some skill to do, like behavior system and stuff.

I know that he is really really good , and i bow down before the 3d engine , okay since your good , why dont you do somthing in blitz basic , ive made a fully rendered mario 64 games , in 30000 of code and 4 levels , blitz basic and darkbasic are the best 3d languages there are before it goes pro , they do raycasting textured lighting and water effects and texured reflections ( real time) that would be a true challenge , to write a game in that language ,

hmm this will be hard and will require a bit of research..

an application based on the neural networking theory(ies). this i got to see, if u dicide to take up the challenge.

if u can't think of such an app... try this: a user recognition software that recognizes the users based on their style or way of typing.

Thats complex , and would be most comendable , you would have to build true ai , that learns , it would be awsome

AI yes. but the answer to it is Neural Networking.

I'm thinking your strong suit is 3D, from what I've seen.
#1. 3D version of scorched Earth.
#2. A program that allows you to design a house floor-plan in an easy 2D interface the generates a 3D walk-through. (There is a lot you can do with this like output a VRML version for net viewing. There is also a need for this sort of program. Other ones out are super-complicated or produce crap 3D)
