Ok...this doesnt "exactly" qualify as help topic worthy..but I do need help. I am creating a two player RPG for a final project, where you go through multiple dungeon levels...and can find rare, secret, and all together good/interesting items. I have asked friends, family, co-workers (lol), and nobody can give me an item that I havent thought of. So I ask of you, fellow computer programmers, help me out!
A few examples of items I have thought of are:

Mist Orb=Hold this orb, and you can walk through walls...for a limited time. But beware, if the orbs energy should run ou t while your in a wall, there is no escape!
Translucency Scroll=Read this scroll, and for a duration of time, you are invicible and invulnerable to enemies...but shall ye get caught between enemies when the power of the spell ends...ye may be in trouble!
Bottle of Ogre Droppings=Repels all monsters while the potency of the Droppings is still fresh. (ew)

If you can give me any ideas like those, PLEASE do!
Thanks!

Um....how about a fart bomb....you place your gasmask on, then throw it on the ground, and stomp on it, and all your enemies instantly cover there noses while you run past them. But your gas mask only works for a limited time(time limits seems to be your thing, so I'll go with it) before your nose explodeds.

or that big light that summons batman by shining the light onto clouds, in the sky....batman can swoop down and destory all your enemy's in one BANG SMASH KLABANG moment. But if it takes batman more then a limited time, he explodes because he realises hes in the wrong videogame.

or how about an item that turns the lights off, except you have military issue night vision goggles, and you can see in the dark. but be careful...your night vision googles only work for a limited time before they explode sending millions of enemies in your direction.

what about matrix item, that turns you into neo, and lets you dynamically re-write the code of the program...except you can only re-write the code for a limited time, and if you don't finish in that limited time you explode.

hahahahhaa! That seriously is completely useless, but funny. And the time limit thing works perfectlty with the items I gave...because its unfair and cheap to have unlimited walk-through-walls, invisibility, and enemy repel abilities. It takes the fun away from the game....and this an RPG set to be in the medieval ages in a dungeon. As you go farther in the dungeon, enemies get stronger, you get stronger, and better items find themselves more closer to you than you thought. So fart bomb wont work, night vision goggles wont work, and matrix thing wont work. But anyways, thanks for the laugh. Wink

Fart bomb might work...if you make the gas mask a midevil nose plug.

Sorry, i don't have any usable ideas.

you should play some games to get ideas... like Diablo II : Lord of Destruction for example... lots of items there, though most are ether pieces of armor or a weapon. I donno...

It would be interesting to have destructable (atleast in part) environment. So you could have like exploading potions that could take down a wall and lead you to a secret area or something.

Ya see? Tony's got it.

Potion of Annihilation=Deals heavy damage to all enemies within a certain radius of the potion. Also will destroy all kinds of walls.

I played Diablo 2...but a fair amount of the game's item system is scrolls, keys, potions, armor, weapons, and jewels... from how far i've gotten. Nothing really that would work for me. But items like the one Tony said would be perfect in my kind of game. Thanks.
(edit) oh, s'ok octopi, heh. Your in the present, im still back in feudal/medieval/rennasaince. Wink
