None of these (above or below) were altered in any way. My crappy webcam turns cyan into magenta for some reason.

Is it practical to have that many machines/monitors?

I'd take a picture of my workstation, but it's just a laptop on a homemade bed tray/table.

Wow... I can tell already for one, Fuses must blow alot lol... How many amps system do you have?

*1500 watts = 15 amps used. 14 awg wire can only be used to i belive 80% 15 amps, so really you can only have 1200 watts on a single poll fuse, or circuit breaker. Definatly get any friend or family member to look at this workstation. I can seriously see a fire from this... :/*

Why do you have so many switches... 1 switch for everylight, and a master switch? Seriously lol. I Hope you know Ohms Law! Wink.

I like the monitor set up alot but I like mine better Smile. labtop, two monitors, and 32' HDTV in the middle. I need a good frame like yours to hook it up though. Sad. It looks nice but I would not work there though on projects, too many distractions lol

Edit: what kind of speakers are those beside the vent pipe? they look like one of my old sets Smile

It's really not as bad as it looks.
code:
CFLs          17 x 13 watts   =  221
Tubes          1 x 40 watts   =   40
Mini-tubes     2 x 15 watts   =   30
Monitors       4 x 100 watts  =  400     <- Extremely generous, since I don't know exact numbers

                              =  691 watts total

                              =  5.8 amps on 120 volts

Same reason people make games in their spare time: to learn, to improve, and (let's be honest) to brag a little. It's not my first project, I know what I'm doing.

It's not an ideal setup but I don't exactly have the cash to go out and buy a massive screen. As for the desk, it's a concoction of two small desks, a piece of a bed frame, and about 15 random pieces of wood I found lying around. Turns out I'm distracted by everything but the desk.

The big speakers are just some cheapies, the small ones are z2300's.

1 machine, and it's only impractical when moving. 4 might be over the top, but for most of my work I find less than three hurts my productivity (um, makes me click more).

Understandable.
I should also mention that as more of an audiophile than a computer person, my room also consists of:
- A record player
- A 12-band equalizer (sometime I'd like to upgrade this)
- An amp
- 3 speaker systems
- A car sub woofer
- 1 receiver
- An electric drum kit (with double pedal!)
plus various mods and connections within.

I sit in an armchair with my laptop on...my lap. No need for condoms.

Bad joke?

I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop. Desktops = 1-27" monitor and 1-17" monitor.
Depending on my mood, I sometimes connect my laptop to my 42" tv.

Each computer is on another table in another room. Mr. Green

Nice workstation, but I would prefer to have a monitor in the middle, not above (so my eyes dont have to jump all over the place), but I guess you would get used to it. Also, I heard that multiple monitors increases your productivity. Sadly I only have 1 monitor at the moment, but I think I will buy a second one soon.

Wayyyyy better with multiple monitors, one monitor for music and email, the other for work Smile

Top for fullscreen video (or sometimes audio), right for file browser/secondary focus, bottom for internet/code/main focus, left for messenger/misc.

Now tell me you don't need 4 screens.

You do need 4 screens, 5-8 if your making models using programs like Maya and 3ds max Smile, multiple view ports multiple screens Smile

God, that sounds amazing. Just think of how much more work you won't be doing with that many screens!
