This next picture was a test to my love of aircraft and to see how well I can photo edit.
The picture of the Cessna, it from http://www.cessna.com/MungoBlobs/220/709/sin_corvtt_flt03_hires.jpg, and the picture fo the clouds was from...http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/Cumulus_Clouds_Over_Jamaica.jpg

any way... here is the end result.

dude the plane one is sweet!!!

if only the landing gear was up . . . lol

Post subject:  RE:My Photo Gallery

The landing gear does not retract on that particular model of Cessna.

EDIT: I'm more disappointed about the lack of a pilot. And there are a couple of artifacts are the plane if you look close enough.

yeah, the edges in most parts are quite rough, doesn't look to natural to me.

lol well it was a first for me... i see what you mean. I put is against a black background and yea.... i see it.. any clue how to get rid if that (and i cut the pilot out because he was annoying me....
(i made some changes to it today such as adding a glare where the pilot should have been.

Its quite good for a first try I suppose, was just trying to give you some feedback so you know where to focus on to make it look nicer next time. There are a few ways you can soften the edges I think, if you are careful with a blur tool or something similar I think you can do it. I'm no professional photo person though so I wouldn't know anything more than you really. Ive just seen some ppl do some of the editing since I work with them. Keep at it, I'm sure you'll learn all the tricks soon Razz

That one looks really nice in low-res, but it gets really grainy or blurry when you zoom in. Great shot though. Smile

it was a while ago, but i think i did the extra zoom on the lens for the last two at 200mm, not done on post.

As promised, the moon

Post subject:  Re: My Photo Gallery

yea thats pretty good. i actually hadn't done any moon shots or anything, and since it was the last lunar eclipse for a while i decided to see what i could do with it. i think its out of focus because it was a slowish exposure time, and the moon's movement caused some blur (you can see extended leading edges).

i love trying new things with the camera, here's my first attempt at lightening. took a while of ghost shooting at a 5 second exposure time for something to happen in the time frame, but i think it turned out well.

wow very well done taking pictures of lighting is something I hadn't thought of actually.

Eww, Kodak. I've had very bad experiences with their digital cameras. If it were me, I would've saved a couple hundred more and got an entry-level DSLR. Anyways, it's better than what I've got. My SLR isn't digital and is from the 70s (takes great shots though and I have a nice macro lens and a nice zooming lens). It's a Ricoh XR-500.

i use a Nikon D50 mainly with a 18-200mm VR Nikkor lens.

Post subject:  RE:My Photo Gallery

That's what my dad just bought. I think he even has the same lens.

EDIT: Now that I check, he actually has the newer D5000.

I would have, but I already pushed my budget by $100, and the camera is a extremely good camera. (besides macro)

When I get enough cash I was going to buy the pentax K10.

Post subject:  Re: My Photo Gallery

you should look into Nikon or even Canon if you haven't yet. the main reason being that you can find lenses for pretty cheap as used for these brands, plus Nikon has the best quality glass for our price range, and Canon has best quality glass for professional price range.

if i were to get a camera right now, i would get a Nikon D70, it's a few years old now and discontinued and you can get it for very cheap. but even so, many professional photogs still carry them around because they are so good. also, you should just get a body, or maybe one with a kit lens, then pick up a 50mm prime lens and learn how to use the camera before jumping into zoom lenses.

due to inclement weather, there haven't been any nice photos to take. Hopefully (if the forecast is correct) i should have a nice and sunny day to take pictures. that being said i should have at least 2 photos up by the end of the week (weather dependent)

thanks, and yea, notice how the tops of the trees aren't fuzzy? I accidentally set the focal point to the trees not the clouds Embarassed if you view at about 75% of the normal size it looks fine.

Cool. It reminds me of grade 9 when we had to biuld a glider for the tech ISU. We had to design the glider so that it would fly properly.

BTW, I just had hardwood floors put in too. They did it yesterday.

well the plane flys. but it is stable at extremely high speeds only. at low speeds it is virtually uncontrollable. it is waaay to floaty. Next project...building a flying box.
