There's a lot of stuff i need to add to it. This is the prelim stage. When you go to 'entire keyboard,' it actually generates words. UPDATED!!!!! V2.0!!!!!!! |

![]() 92 words per minute here, which just shows how carppy my typing skills are becoming. ![]() The thing is, this is definately not a realistic value for average words per minute in practice. You're repeatedly using the same words, and overall they're pretty basic/short. |

Yea, i have a string array in which i have to input all the values for the words so that's why i don't have many words. Then the words are converted to chars.... now would it maybe be possible to read from a document.. that way i could write a paragraph and all the strings would be assigned to the corresponding words of the paragraph. ![]() ![]() |

Yes it would be possible. Read the tutorial on File Input/Output in the Turing Walkthrough. xHoly-Divinity wrote: As for the word accuracy. It's just the number of characters per minute divided by 4 (so, this is saying that the avg word is 4 chars in length... it's not 100% accurate, but i imagine it's +-20)
![]() Hrm... Some places seem to think the average word length is 5 letters and some 7... In any case, I'd raise your average to make it a bit more reasonable. |

I just attached V2.0. It has many more paragraphs and lessons. I think you will enjoy some of the lessons (choose all keyboard, then pick a topic, my favorite is U.S. politics, hehehe). There is also a custom notepad where you can make your own lesson. If a few ppl want to create a few .txt files and attach them, I will add them to the prog, that would be great. Lets see what kind of ideas we can get togethe ![]() |

good stuff xHoly-Divinity, and an actual 'word' in written sense is 5 characters long [Gandalf] wrote: 92 words per minute here, which just shows how carppy my typing skills are becoming. Was that before or after errors were accounted for? |

Well the way it works is it checks how many characters there are in total... so lets say for example 500. Then it checks how much time it takes for u to complete the lesson. So lets say 45 sec. Then it divides 500 by the time (45) and multiplies it by 20 (this indicates that the avg word is 5 characters long) ![]() |
