Hey, I am a grade 12 student and I really want to go to University of Waterloo. I am somewhat concerned about getting accepted and this made me feel a lot better :). Rather than a cut-off, my program says "individual selection from the low 80s" and my top 6 average will likely be around 86 (I hope), but if what you wrote about school weighting and the AIF is true (I believe it is) then I think I have a good chance.

That's funny Adam, I definitely prefer squirrels (we've got a lot of those as well) over geese.

Lol I was just reading your recent post and this one came up as a related post. You really should make your older posts more accessible. Anyways my brother just started at the University of Waterloo and I'm going to show him this article.

Guelph has squirrels and lots of them. I think I'd rather have geese, they look nicer and not like rats.

[...] I know a lot of students have been asking about getting into the University of Waterloo, and Computer Science programs in general. Possibly because UW keeps on top of Maclean’s rankings. “[University of Waterloo] finished first in the ‘most innovative’ category, second in ‘best overall’ and ‘leaders of tomorrow’, and finished third in ‘highest quality.’” [...]

The University of Waterloo sounds like an excellent school. Though I know very little of Canadian schools generally, I have heard of Waterloo before because it's the only North American university that offers a distance degree in Classical Studies (something that I was researching a while back).
